Dear Avid Readers

This is the third issue of this year and we are happy to share that The ELT Practitioner finalizes its fourth year with your guided co-operation and all time support. This issue is based on Language acquisition and its approaches in teaching and learning English.

The First Paper brings out the achievements of Indian English writing and the phases of gradual transformations. This paper advocates that the alienation between the speech and experience has disappeared now. The writers now have developed a love for speech and that through the language which was imposed over them.

The second paper describes the teaching/learning materials development for ELT in which it has been discussed that the materials are being developed from the theoretical points of view of its principles and procedures are being developed through its practical undertaking from evaluating; adapting, supplementing and creating own materials.

The third paper investigates the effect of Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT) on students’ achievement in an English language course taught for college level students in an English language department in an Art college in Mysore City, India, and to find out students’ attitudes towards this strategy. The study revealed that the achievement of the group taught with JiTT was significantly higher than that of the group taught with the regular method

The fourth paper focuses on child language acquisition which showcases that the child acquires the mother tongue in a natural way without any formal teaching in their early ages.

Once again thanks a lot for your consistent support and co-operation and I assure that papers of this issue will open many horizons of language acquisition in teaching English. Your precious feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

We are also happy to announce that our Golden Jubilee & 14th International annual Conference of ELTAI is being held from 09-12 October 2019 in Amity University, NOIDA. The theme of this conference is Right to English which can shake the world and it will compel the decision makers to re-think to formulate many new aspects for Indigenous English. Hope to have you all in this academic rendezvous.

A splendid, Crackling and sparkling Diwali to you all!!!

Keep Reading!!! Keep Thinking!!!
