Dear Pack 911 Families,
Every week in May was filled with fun scouting activities and events, including our inaugural Bike Rodeo and Memorial Day Flag Placement. All of our dens worked hard to finalize their pending adventure requirements this month, and our AOLs built their arrows at their last den meeting in preparation for our their Crossover.
A few of our AOLs attended a fun space-themed RAD Camporee on May 3rd, where they participated in many Troop level competitions with other units and put the skills they've learned all year to the test working in a patrol.
Our NUMC parking lot was transformed into an obstacle course for Bike Rodeo on May 10th, where scouts learned everything from safety and helmet checks to properly using hand signals and tested out their riding skills. Older and more experienced scouts took in a 5 mile ride to CSUN's duck & turtle pond.
On May 18th, we thanked the Northridge United Methodist Church during their morning Scout Sunday service, and immediately jumped into our Program Planning meeting in the afternoon, welcoming new parents and leaders, starting the blueprint for what will inevitably be an ambitious and exciting 2025-26 Scouting Program.
Lastly, we ended the month with a very special and reverent annual Memorial Day tradition, where scouts from all units in Los Angeles gathered on May 24th to place flags and salute the graves of veterans at LA's National Cemetery. This year, Pack 911 was also selected to honor a Civil War veteran who received the Medal of Honor.
As we round out the corner of this scouting season, and culminate our pack's achievements during our June 7th bridging, we want to thank you all for being a part of our scouting journey. Remember, ALL scouts regardless of achieving rank or filling all requirements are welcome and will cross the bridge to their next rank. We hope you'll continue on this path with us next year and invite your to share your honest feedback so we can continue to improve and grow!
Yours in Scouting,
Pack 911 Leadership
