Seems like Pack 911 hasn't slowed down since our Pinewood Derby race at the 1st of the month! February was all about Personal Safety and First Aid, teaching our scouts the best ways to protect themselves and others in all types of situations, an important skill that must be taught at every age.
We had a dual celebration of Scouting's 115th Anniversary and Pack 911's 30th Anniversary on February 22nd at SKYZONE in Thousand Oaks (coincidentally on Lord Robert Baden-Powell's birthday, the founder of scouting). The scouts had a fabulous time jumping, diving, swinging, dancing, balancing and playing with their fellow pack-mates with over 150 Pack 911 scouts, siblings and parents in attendance. We even added a few new families to the pack, who were able to participate in the festivities. WELCOME TO ALL!

March has typically been the time we plan for our SPRING Pack Camping, where the whole family (including parents and siblings) are invited to a Pack camping weekend in a local spot. As Cubmaster, I like to typically change it up each season with a new venue, but we've had to adapt to our HUGE growing pack of 150+ and make sure we find a suitable location that can accommodate ALL families. Therefore, we've made the difficult decision to forego Malibu Creek campground (limit 50 people) and go back to the large Castaic Lake campground again for March 21-23. I have scouted out a few NEW options for activities, including new fishing spots, water activities and nature tours, that will be perfect for all levels of campers. Come for the whole weekend if possible, or at the very least for the day to enjoy all of the fun activities we have in store!
WE NEED YOUR HELP! Parents, we need your involvement and support to help us create incredible experiences and successful scouting events. We'll send out signups soon for parents to step in to help with activities, campfire skits, music, menu selection, cooking, load in, setup, etc.. The ways you can contribute are endless but ALL appreciated and needed for our scouts. One easy way is to join our Camping Prep meeting (via zoom) on March 9th Sunday and help us lock down camping details. Please note the dates below for all den meetings and optional free events, like CSUN's Star Party and the Rose Bowl Diabetes Walk. Together, I'm sure we'll find new ways of improving our program and make this the BEST camping trip yet!

A Cub Scout can join midstream during the Cub Scout program, and they will not need to accomplish any of the requirements for the earlier ranks. The scout will just begin at the appropriate level according to their age.
However EVERY new scout must complete the Bobcat Rank requirements (the 1st adventure)
