On the second day of the final mun session, the Legislature Parliament II concluded their GSL and presided over the moderated caucus. Legislative Parliament: II passed its resolution on the topic of actions required for building smart irrigation systems with 17 votes, and its competing resolution got the rest of the votes.
The delegates Chandra Kanta Raut and Upendra Yadav sponsored the resolution. The resolution passed with two-thirds of the majority of the delegates in Legislature Parliament II.
The resolution was supported by Chandra Bhandari, Prakash Sharan Mahat, Arzu Rana, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Sudan Kirati, Puspa Kamal Dahal, Urmila Majhi, Sita Gurung, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Narayan Prakash Saud, Gagan Kumar Thapa, Madhav Kumar Nepal, and Dhan Raj Gurung.
The preambulatory and operative clauses of Resolution 4.2 were in numerous ways better than those of the other resolutions, and it accepted everyone's views on the fact that agriculture has been the foundation of Nepal's economy, contributing 27% of the nation's total GDP and providing employment for 65% of the population. However, the contribution of agriculture to the nation's total GDP has significantly decreased, and an irrigation system is not currently in place.
Likewise, the operative clauses included: encourage the farmers to grow quality crops for the population and the use of proper irrigation systems; urge the government to drive the country’s agriculture commercialization and make it technology driven; request the government build a proper irrigation system; stress the government for the proper check of fertilizer and pesticides; and call on the middleman to provide sufficient income for the hard-working farmers.
The resolution passed. The delegates and the Dias panel had some feedback sessions. The final session for TESMUN 2023 in Parliament 2 officially ended.
