Our Bibliotherapy Mission

Why Are We Doing This?

COVID-19 has hit all of us--hard. We've all been impacted in one form or another--making daily life changes, forcing ourselves to be people we aren't normally, isolating us to the point of extreme loneliness. For teens, this could be harder; jobs could have been lost, graduations and dances and end of the year celebrations have been canceled, summer doesn't seem to be fun anymore, and school has been harder than it ever has been. So we wanted to help.

We took the time to share personal recommendations of books that have impacted and left a mark on us. Much like our psychologist friends, we believe that books help and heal. We believe that books can connect us back to society, making us feel that perhaps we're not completely alone through these characters and their stories. We believe that books allow us to travel when we're forced to stay stationary. Reading has always been an escape from stressors in the real world, but they can also provide a community to bring us back together with our friends, family, and fellow bibliophiles.

We hope that with these selections and resources you will find the help and healing that you need.
