Changing Tides - Requiem for the Earth

서울예술대학교, UCSD가 함께 진행한 지구를 위한 진혼곡 멀티미디어 융합 퍼포먼스 'Changing Tides'의 오프닝, 엔딩 파트에 참여하였다.

해당 공연에서 오행과 자연을 주제로 유체 기반의 물질 연구 및 실험, 비디오그래피, 퍼포먼스 보조, 영상 제작, HCR-5 로봇암 프로그래밍의 역할을 수행하였다. 스피커를 활용한 Cymatics, 잉크, 오일, 철솜, 자성유체, 비눗방울 등의 물성을 연구하고 실험한 뒤 영상으로 제작하고 퍼포머가 활용할 수 있게 전달하였다. 한화 HCR-5 로봇암에는 Kinect V2 센서를 부착하여 퍼포먼스를 로봇의 시각에서 바라보고 그 시선을 Touch Designer를 통해 실시간 송출하였다.

Description

In collaboration for the opening and ending part of ‘Changing Tides’, a multi-media convergence performance for a requiem for the Earth created by Seoul Institute of the Arts, UCSD, and hosted by Arts Council Korea(ARKO) in February 2020.

Art through researching materials based on fluid and experimenting, videography, performance assistant, and HCR-5 robotic arm programming for the subject of 5 elements and nature in the performance. I have researched and experimented with the properties of ink, oil, steel wool, ferrofluid, cymatics with speaker, and soap bubbles and created videos using them, conveyed them through a performer after making them into a form that was easier to perform. The robotic arm had a Kinect V2 sensor connected, therefore the robot was able to see the performance from its own perspective and transmit in real-time through Touch Designer.
