Ches win 16th NCAA Title
Edward Cheserek of Oregon won the NCAA indoor 5,00 meter final at Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in Texas. He won his record-16th NCAA titles.
Cheserek took control of the men's 5,000-meter final in the final two laps to win going away in 13 minutes, 41.20 seconds.
The victory gives Cheserek more NCAA titles in cross country, indoor and outdoor track than any athlete in Division I history.
He had shared the record with Suleiman Nyambui of UTEP, who won 15 between 1979-82.
