Texas Tech men and Arkansa women win NCAA titles

For the first time in school history, Texas Tech has captured a men's team national title.

The Red Raiders men's outdoor track and field captured the NCAA national championship scoring 60 points in the meet to bring home only the second national championship

for any team in school history since the university established its athletic program in 1925.

Divine Oduduru took home titles in both the 100 and 200 meters with respective times of 9.86 and 19.73 seconds, the latter of which broke the NCAA Championship record and both the second-fastest all-time mark in the respective events at the collegiate level.

Texas Tech's only other team national title came in 1993, when the Lady Raiders basketball team prevailed in the NCAA women's tournament.

The Arkansas women won the 2019 NCAA Division I outdoor track and field championship

Arkansas and Southern California were tied at 57 points going into the final event, the 4x400 meter relay. Arkansas finished in second, with the Trojans dropping the baton due to incidental contact. USC ended up in eighth in the race.

Southern California's Anglerne Annelus repeated as 200m champion, holding off LSU freshman Sha'Carri Richardson in a photo finish. Earlier,Richardson won the 100 in record time, running 10.75.

Oklahoma State's Sinclaire Johnson beat defending champion Jessica Hull of Oregon to win the 1500m in 4:05.98

. Southern California held off LSU to win the 4x100 meter relay to start the running event finals.
