My journey through the MLIS program has been a transformative experience, fostering both personal and professional growth. Throughout the program, I developed a deep understanding of key areas in librarianship, from collection management and public services to technology and research. One of the most significant aspects of my journey was working on the portable podcast and oral history kit project, which enhanced my ability to blend technology with creative learning opportunities for students and faculty. This, along with my experience presenting on the implementation of Leganto for course reserves at a professional conference, helped me build confidence and refine my leadership skills.
Through each course, project, and collaboration, I also gained a stronger sense of cultural competence and a clearer understanding of how libraries can serve as inclusive, accessible spaces for all communities. These experiences have not only strengthened my professional expertise but also my commitment to fostering creativity, growth, and innovation in the library environment.
As I move forward, my goal is to continue building upon these foundations, striving for continuous learning, leadership, and service to my community. The MLIS program has shaped my identity as a librarian and leader, equipping me to embrace the challenges and opportunities that will shape the future of libraries.
