Analysis
The Therapy Dogs program was created to help students de-stress during finals week, and I believe it was successful in many ways. It addressed a real need by allowing students to spend time with therapy dogs, which helped reduce their stress levels. We effectively utilized the library’s resources, like the reservation system, and partnered with another department to bring in the dogs, which turned out really well.
I was pleased to see that students responded positively to the program, indicating it effectively met their needs. The marketing plan, which included social media and campus news, really helped spread the word and encouraged student participation. This showed me that the program was well-aligned with what students were looking for and provided them with something valuable.
Reflection
Reflecting on the Therapy Dogs program, I realize how well it met students' needs and the valuable lessons it taught me for future library programs. This experience really highlighted the importance of understanding users' needs, careful planning, and collaborating with other departments.
In the future, I plan to enhance similar programs by adding more time slots and ensuring we schedule breaks for the dogs and trainers. These adjustments will help create an even better experience for everyone involved.
