UNC Chapel Hill offers an incredible global gap year experience where students can spend up to 12 months participating in service abroad.
Fellows are given $8,000 to fund their service experience. There are 2 possible paths to take. One is a self-designed path where students design their own experience and choose where to serve. The second path is with Global Citizen Year. This is a more structured, in-depth service experience to Brazil, Ecuador, India, or Senegal.
In order to be considered, high school seniors must apply to UNC by the early action deadline of October 15th. Interested students will need to answer relevant questions through the Excel @ Carolina section of the application.
While not a requirement, priority consideration is given to first-generation, low-income students that have limited history of travel!
*Due to the pandemic, service projects will be domestic as opposed to international.
