Hi Spartans! Not sure what career you’re interested in? Check out these career exploration resources. Many of them will ask you about your interests and personality traits.
CFNC has lots of great resources for you to use to explore different careers. You will need to create a CFNC account in order to access them. Once you’re in your account:
Click on “Plan”
Click on “Plan for a Career”
Click on “Learn About Yourself”
This is a good place to start if you are just beginning to look into career paths. I recommend using the Interest Profiler and Career Cluster Survey first. They both take about 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Once you’re done, you’ll receive a list of careers that match your interests and personality. You can then read about each listed career from there and the education needed to get there.
Other tabs - Explore Careers, Reality Check, Know Before You Go, Career Focus, Get A Job - these will allow you to:
learn about different types of jobs that exist
explore jobs based on where you want to live, transportation needs, etc.
discover growing career fields in North Carolina (specifically the need for nurses and teachers)
use tools to help build resumes and cover letters and receive interview tips and advice
The College Board has a page dedicated to helping you explore colleges, majors, and careers. You won’t need an account to access this information but having one will allow you to complete searches that are tailored to you. You can search for careers by majors, interests, and even by assessing how others made their career decisions.
