The UNC System is comprised of 16 public universities within the state of North Carolina. Because they fall within one system, they often operate under the same admissions guidelines and policies.
Admissions Requirements: Each 1 of the 16 requires students to meet course requirements as well as GPA and test score requirements. These requirements can be found on the embedded webpage.
*Note for enrollment in the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2021 and 2022, the test score requirement as been waived. Thus, this waiver currently applies for the classes of 2021 and 2022.
Requirements: 2.5 weighted high school GPA OR a minimum test score on either the ACT (19) or the SAT (1010)
A student must still take either the ACT or the SAT to be considered for admission.
This is a time-limited provision put in place in the spring of 2020
Waived for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 application cycles
Prior requirement: 2.5 GPA AND 880 SAT or 17 ACT
Course Requirements:
4 units of English
2 consecutive units of a language other than English
4 units of Math
3 units of Science
2 units of Social Studies
*Community Colleges have no minimum requirements in terms of GPA, test scores, or classes.
