Students will need to create an FSA ID that will serve as an electronic signature on the FAFSA, Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This is simply a username and password that you will also use to sign in to your application every time you need to access it.
Dependent students will also need to have one parent or legal guardian create their own separate FSA ID as well. Again, this will be used to sign into the student's application and to sign it once completed.

*You will need social security numbers to create an FSA ID, so if a parent does not have one, you will have to print out a signature page for the FAFSA and physically sign and mail it in. If a student does not have a social security number or alien registration number, you will not be eligible to complete the FAFSA. More information on financial aid for undocumented students below.
