ACT/SAT

The ACT is an entrance exam used by most colleges to make admissions decisions. It is comprised of 4 sections + an optional essay.

Sections:

Math, Reading, Science, English

Major Differences from SAT:

• more and longer reading passages

• total questions: 215, total time: 175 minutes

  • more questions per minute = time crunch

• more math: geometry/trigonometry focus

*Students take this test for FREE during February of their junior year.

• less (in-depth) math

• Math section provides formulas (ACT does not)
