Learn how to help local wildlife by supporting their habitats and growth. This can take shape in many ways- a few of SPRAY's own actions are down below. Reach out to your local county and conservation agencies to see what actions can be taken to support wildlife.

In 2025, SPRAY planted and installed 2 floating wetlands at Elaine T. Valente Park.
Not only did we want to improve e.Coli treatment in non-point source areas of the Segment 15 of the South Platte River. But, the added benefit was that smaller fish had an opportunity to hide from predators, and seek shade during the hot summers.
Floating Wetlands were order by Floating Islands West. And Floating Wetland Plants were purchased by Aquatic and Wetland Nursery LLC.

In 2023, SPRAY learned from a local beekeeper to understand innovative approaches to protecting local bee populations. This involved a unique partnership with Adams County Parks to discuss a people safe, and plant-friendly spot for the bees. We then planted different plants around the beehive to ensure the bees wouldn't have to fly over major roadways in order to pollinate.

Host a Fish Nursery & Plan a Release Date
From 2022-2024 SPRAY, in partnership with Colorado Trout Unlimited (CTU), took part in CTU's Trout in the Classroom activity. We cultivated hundreds of trout in several nurseries throughout the Front Range, and released them back into the South Platte River. Youth got to learn about the life cycle of trout, river conservation, and ultimately how these animals thrive.
