I crossed the state line and I'm in Amarillo, Texas. The old Route 66 is not a continuous road. It's been cut up, replaced, and in some cases eliminated. I came across a lot of DEAD ENDs today. Google Map always tries to put me on the freeway, and setting an option to avoid highways will take me out of the old Route 66 because it is still considered "highways." The old Route 66 is essentially a ghost road so finding the right road has been an interesting challenge. And speaking of ghost, most places I passed by were ghost towns. My photos today feature the images in black and white.
