I'm in Kingman, Arizona. Driving on secondary roads gves much more intimate feelings with the surroundings than freeway driving. Also because I'm not in hurry or trying to get from point A to point B, my sense is more tuned to the environment so I notice a lot. The roads I drove today were not easy; they must have been treacherous for those migrants back in the days.
