I'm in Fairview Heights, Illinois, just east of St. Louis. This is my second time here, and it still looks impressive. I'm deeply interested in the Lewis and Clark Expedition and reading a lot about it lately, so being in St. Louis and the Arch is very meaningful to me. The Arch park is a memorial to Thomas Jefferson and the American migration to the West. I didn't realize just how visionary Jefferson was, ahead of his time
In St. Louis, there is a well known desert shop called Ted Drewes Frozen Custard on Route 66. Their signature product is called the "concrete" with the following description "It's so thick that you can turn it upside down and it won't fall out!" When I ordered it, the serving lady flipped it upside down to demonstrate it's true. I had their signature Chocolate TeDad's with oatmeal cookie. It was very good.
