I'm in Gallup, New Mexico. I left Sedona early in the morning, drive through secondary roads in central Arizona, enjoyed the changing landscapes. My first stop was Winslow, AZ. The reason is in the photo (hint: a song by the Eagles). Like Sedona yesterday, I took another detour today: Petrified Forrest National Park. A fascinating place from the Triassic Period, over 200 million years ago, the early dinosour era. I learned that petrified wood is so hard that it requires special tools and takes 3 times longer to cut than granites.
