I drove 300 miles from McKinney, Texas, on secondary roads, passing through rolling green hills, ranches, and Texas Longhorns. Now I'm in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I made a few stops along the way. My first was the Rock Cafe (see photos) in the small town of Stroud. The streets were quiet, with very little car or foot traffic in town. But as soon' as I pulled into the parking lot, I saw two dozen cars and a crowd of people taking photos, coming in and out of the shop.
So weird. While the whole town was dead quiet, this little joint was bustling with tourists.
In contrast, I enjoyed the Auto Museum in the small town of Sapulpa. Every car on display was well-polished and shiny. Unlike the Rock Cafe, these automobiles told me meaningful stories.
