Lake Auliekol is part of the Akkol floodplain lakes system. The concept of Akkol-zhayylma includes the lower course of Olenty-Shiderti, every spring, in high water, water from the Olenty river flows into lake Auliekol and then through the duana channel fills one after another eight lakes (Basentein, Kyldykol, Sasykkol, Umirzak, Bozaygyr, Ashykol, Koktobe, Tokkyly).
According to informants, spring floods were so powerful that the water overflowed the banks of these small lakes, overflowed (zhayylady) and formed one huge "white lake" (Akkol). And therefore called the land of Akkol-Zhaiylma.
Lake Auliekol is fresh, the total area is 7.5 km2 . The lake is 3.7 km long, 2.9 km wide, and 11.4 km long. The catchment area is a slightly undulating flat plain. The lake has an oval shape, low, sloping banks. It flows from the North-West of the Olenty river. Closed and overgrown, the water is used for watering. The nutrition and level of Auliekol largely depends on the regime of the Shiderty river.
In translation, Auliekol means "Holy lake". According to informants, the lake has medicinal properties. Holy water is used to treat various skin diseases and injuries. Swimming in this lake has a positive effect on human health.
