Interesting are the materials that Supplement the content of the little-studied pages of the biography of the famous statesman of the XVIII century Abylai Khan.
As you know, the Kazakh militia began to actively liberate the territory of North-Eastern Saryarka in the 30s of the XVIII century. In one of these battles, the young Batyr Abilmansur (Abylai), then known as Sabalak, moved into the political arena. This event took place in 1733. The Dzungarian army was met on the approaches to the Yerementau mountains. In a wide clearing between Karitau (the old name of yerementau) and Olenta, the Kazakh militia led by Khan Abulmamambet and Batyr Bogenbay gave the Kalmyks a decisive battle. The battle was opened by duels of the strongest batyrs, and 20-year-old Batyr Sabalak overcame one of the most powerful warriors of the enemy – Sharysh. After that, the true origin of Abilmansur was revealed, and a year later, in 1734, in Bayanaul on the shore of lake Sabyndykol, at a General meeting, Abylai was proclaimed Khan of the Middle Zhuz.
To date, a memorial stele has been installed on this historical site. The location of the sacred object "Abylai tasy" is the Eastern part of lake Sabyndykol in Bayanaul district of Pavlodar region. The monument is a stone stele, 2.5 m high, the approach to the monument is decorated with a staircase, lined with slabs. On the stone stele mounted plate with the engraving:
