Name Meaning: Name given by himself
Gender: Agender (he/him)
Age: ???
History: When ghosts began appearing across the Clan territories, ValleyClan healer Clouddancer traveled to Fjell'Byr, bringing Minerva the Oracle in company as well, to seek answers. Minerva began to travel the Empty, seeking answers to the ghosts. Her search came to an end, with a being that introduced themselves as Ether.

Name: Minerva the Oracle
Name Meaning:
Minerva: Long, long ago, before the Clans resided by the lake, twolegs would catch glimpses of this phantom. They began to call her Minerva, after the old twoleg that used to own the fishing shack by the lake. The twolegs claim she is the spirit of the old lady; Minerva, however knows otherwise.
The Oracle: Her title, the Oracle, comes from StarClan and ancient warriors, to indicate her ability to predict future events even StarClan cannot foresee.
Species: Lynx
Gender: Female (she/her)
Age: Unknown
Rank: Oracle for the Clans
The Oracle is a prophetic spirit that can perfectly recount events of the past, deliver news of the present, and catch glimpses of the future. These small fragments of time are always accurate, and she can foretell things even beyond the sight of StarClan. She has the power to conjure any StarClan warrior from the past to be among the living, whether the StarClan cat wanted to be summoned or not.
Clan: Not affiliated with any specific Clan.
General Description: Minerva is a large, stark white albino lynx with faint, sparse markings. She has long, bushy fur with a mane of fur wreathing her fluffy cheeks. Her legs are long and sturdy, and she has formidably large sized paws. Her eyes are a piercing, glowing red, with white pupils. Darker tufts of fur outline her eartips, elbows, and ankles. She is slightly transparent in appearance in the waking world; she only appears solid in dreams.
Fur texture: Long, bushy, thick
Body type: Large for a lynx, thick muscles
Scars: None
History:
Minerva was born in the mountains as a young lynx a long, long time ago. It's hard for her to remember her life as a living creature, given it was so long ago. She has faint memories of being both revered and feared; animals far and wide came to know her special abilities. Animals of the forest would come to her, to have her summon a deceased animal for them to commune. Every time she summoned the dead, however, she could feel her soul's grasp among the living slipping away. One day, after summoning the drowned pups of a fox for a distraught mother, Minerva found herself overwhelmed with exhaustion, and her red eyes closed, as she sunk deeper and deeper into a slumber. When she woke up, she found that she was no longer in the physical realm; her body lay before her, lifeless. Without a general direction for what to do next, she descended from the mountains, and found herself in close proximity to four Clans of cats.
Despite being dead, Minerva still found herself able to speak with these cats. Through their healers she learned that these cats had recently lost warriors. Minerva showed them the way to the meteor pool, and taught them how to bring their ancestors present to speak with them once more. Through several practices and rituals, the healers of the Clans learned how to commune with StarClan.
Minerva found through death, she was able to witness the very channel of time that all cats follow. She found, for a short period of time, she could recall the past events of a living cat, or catch glimpses of future events. This made StarClan horribly uneasy: Minerva time and time again was able to accurately predict future events that StarClan had no idea was going to occur. This drove them to such paranoia, they began to tell the healers and leaders of every Clan behind Minerva's back that she was not to be trusted, as was the will of her ancestors. With these seeds of doubt planted, the Clans slowly began to cut off communing with Minerva, until visits to her Hollow completely ceased. With the sudden drop off of Clan cat visits, Minerva went dormant, for many, many moons.
She emerged once more with the exile of StreamClan. The actions of the Clans caused such a disturbance and rift in StarClan, the tremors of the rift were felt by Minerva, waking her once more. She became slowly awake in the Clans once more, watching and taking interest once again in the lives and relationships of the cats by the lake.
Personality:
+ Benevolent
+ Compassionate
= Unflappable
= Wise
- Cryptic
- Intense Anger
Minerva hardly ever shows her emotions: she is hard to read, with a piercing, hard gaze that is hard to keep for long. She tries to remain unbiased with delivering time fragments, but she is known to withold information or provide guidance to help cats who are going through troubles in their life. While she hasn't been seen outwardly angry, it is well-known not to try and anger this spirit. The few fragments of anger that Minerva has let slipped have been felt with a scorching intensity, discouraging any cats from trying to trick or double cross Minerva.
Name: The Shade
Name Meaning: His original name has been long forgotten: he refers to himself as such.
Gender: Male (he/him)
Age: ??? Unknown
Rank: True Leader of the Dark Forest
Clan: N/A
The Shade did not always appear as the dilapidated creature that now stands before you.
Thousands of moons ago, when the Clans first came to settle besides the lake, a ValleyClan healer took a particular interest to learning the ways of Minerva the Oracle. He presented himself to the ancient albino spirit as a young, wandering mind, wanting to learn more about the stars and how to harness their power.
Minerva taught the healer all that she knew: how to track the stars, how to speak in their ancient language, and how to use their powers to travel between the different realms of existence.
The Shade attempted to use this knowledge to seal off StarClan, for daring to refuse his unwilling choice in apprentice. Thankfully, Minerva was able to intercede in time, interrupting the ceremony and banishing the Shade to the realm of spirits in the process.
From there, his refusal to die, fury at rejection, and hatred of StarClan festered, creating the Dark Forest...
-
When Thislestar perished in exile, he was turned away from StarClan, to the Dark Forest. From there, he learned of the existence of the Shade, who recognized a kindred spirit in his hatred towards StarClan. The Shade taught Thistlestar what he had learned from Minerva, working with the former leader of StreamClan to begin organizing the Dark Forest to eradicate StarClan...

The Dark Forest
Name: Thistlestar
Name Meaning: Thistle - silver/grey spikey fur, Star - Leader of StreamClan
Gender: Tom (he/him, they/them)
Age: 79 moons
Rank: Leader
Clan: Dark Forest, StreamClan's former leader
Thistlestar was the leader of StreamClan prior to Adderstar and was the reason behind the Great War of the Lake. With knowledge of half-StreamClan half-RockClan kits residing in StreamClan, Thistlestar's hostility towards the situation worsened upon receiving news that the kits managed to find their way towards RockClan. The leader refused to believe the kits left voluntarily and began to suspect they were stolen by a RockClan patrol looking to fetch kits that didn't belong to them, adding fuel to Thistlestar's disgust and hatred towards RockClan. This attitude spread towards his other neighboring clans, as well. Tensions grew between StreamClan and RockClan, WoodClan, and ValleyClan and ultimately divided the clan in half. Thistlestar sent out an increasing number of patrols to watch the border, threatening anyone who dared step a whisker too close. Some cats, irritated with the situation and scared for their life, fled in the moonlight, leaving Thistlestar and half of the clan behind. One of those cats was his deputy and mate, Addersnap. Fueled by rage, Thistlestar declared war on RockClan, wanting them out of the picture for good after causing him to lose so much.
The onset of war ultimately fell through for StreamClan as their already small numbers dwindled even further. One by one warriors were picked apart by patrols, fled the territory on their own, or vanished from plain sight. The future ahead of the silver leader was grim and dark, his hostility and pride towards the world around him the only thing driving him deeper into grave he dug himself. Thistlestar ushered what remaining StreamClan warriors were left, that hadn't gone with Addersnap, and lead them out of their territory. He forcefully threatened any cat who refused to join him, unbelieving that his loyalty would be further dismissed by what little he had left. Moon by moon, Thistlestar became a hollow shell of the feline they used to be. Life after life were stripped away by starvation, disease, and poor health. He heard the whispers about him spread among his traveling Clanmates, and snapped at anyone who dared treat him as weak. Still, the feline fought on, not wanting to betray the clan he fought so hard to protect and preserve.
Upon Addersnap returning to StreamClan, Thistlestar and his deputy reconciled and shared one last tender embrace before the silver leader's final life escaped his body. He was surrounded by apprehensive clanmates, both new and old, and finally witnessed his clan united once more. His deep hatred, hostility, and pride died with him. There are floating rumors dismissed by many that the blood of Thistlestar still courses through StreamClan to this day.

Star - leader of RockClan
Gender: Tom (he/him, cis)
Age: 75 moons
Rank: Leader
Clan: StarClan, RockClan's former leader
Spiderstar became leader after Stonestar's untimely death. He led RockClan through the War of the Lake, managing to keep RockClan alive and thriving despite StreamClan's extinction attempt. When Adderstar returned with StreamClan, he hoped for a better relationship with the newly returned Clan, offering a truce and forgiveness for Fowlstar's past actions against RockClan. He was surprised when Adderstar refused, and in return closed StreamClan's borders to RockClan.
Since StreamClan closed their borders, Spiderstar maintained a tense relationship with their hostile neighbors. When StarClan began to fall silent, he began to doubt in his faith and devotion to StarClan, beginning to withdraw from Gatherings and not looking to them for guidance. With the onslaught of predators, Spiderstar refused to budge on his position, resolving to handle RockClan's predator problem independently and offer no support to the other Clans.
Spiderstar lost his 9th life the night before the storm began that flooded RockClan, joining StarClan.

Name: Boulderstrike
Name Meaning:
Boulder - his gray pelt
Strike - his willingness to volunteer for battle
Gender: Tom (he/him, trans)
Age: 103 moons at death (13 moons before start date)
Rank: Senior Warrior
Clan: StarClan (Formerly RockClan)
Siblings: Stonestar
Mate: Darkspring
Kits: Ratfang
CW: Violence, death, major injuries.
Prior to the War of the Lake, Boulderstrike was a strong RockClan warrior who often fought in battle and border patrols. He sustained many injuries throughout his life: his right ear was torn in half, his left eye blinded, and his back was severely clawed by a WoodClan patrol many, many moons ago. He earned another scar on his right leg on a patrol to try and drive out a fox to the mountains, after which he always seemed more nervous around the creatures.
When the War of the Lake came to the Clans, Boulderstrike was the warrior who volunteered as the scout for RockClan at the Great Battle between RockClan and StreamClan.
Initially, Boulderstrike had been planning to retire in the coming moon, before Fowlstar had declared war against RockClan. When Thistlestar made his declaration of war public to all four Clans at the Gathering, Boulderstrike decided to serve one last time as a warrior and fight in the war with Spiderstar.
Boulderstrike sustained several minor injuries to his face and left ankle as he volunteered for every patrol along the StreamClan border, not wanting the younger warriors to risk their lives. As the fighting worsened, Spiderstar sought out WoodClan as an ally, taking Boulderstrike on the patrol with him to negotiate.
One evening following the establishment of the alliance between WoodClan and RockClan, Spiderstar approached Boulderstrike and pulled him aside to his den, to speak in private. Spiderstar informed the gray tabby that he wanted the warrior to be a scout for the Clan, to keep up direct communication between RockClan and WoodClan, in case anything happened in an emergency. Boulderstrike agreed, keeping his role as the informant secret from the rest of the warriors.
When Thistlestar led the ambush onto RockClan to wipe them out, Boulderstrike initially tried to stay back and fight to help RockClan. As the tide of the battle turned, it was clear that they wouldn't last much longer. Boulderstrike dove into the emergency bolthole, running as fast as he could despite his age and injuries. He found Hazelstar and led WoodClan back to RockClan's camp just in the nick of time.
Boulderstrike didn't pause or hesitate, throwing himself right back into battle despite running across the territory twice without break. Taking up position back at the nursery, the gray senior warrior fought with all of RockClan's might, not letting a single StreamClan warrior enter the nursery, despite his injuries. He held the entrance and kept the kits and queens inside safe until the very bitter end.
Following the retreat of StreamClan, Boulderstrike immediately collapsed. Despite hurriedly being ushered into the medicine den, it was clear that Boulderstrike only had a few more waking moments on earth. He would soon be joining their starry ancestors in Silverpelt. Surrounded by who remained of his loved ones, Boulderstrike died of his injuries that evening.

Amber - his pale golden tabby markings
Splash - his white markings
Gender: Tom (he/him, cis)
Age: 132 moons (as of 01SEP2022)
Rank: Rogue, elder age
Clan: Formerly from RockClan
Ambersplash was born to Fernshimmer and Poppystep, two older RockClan warriors who were seniors having him. They had no ambition within the Clan, besides finally settling down to have a family. He was an only kit, and his parents doted on him, spoiling him and convincing him he could do no wrong. Throughout his kithood and apprenticeship, this continued, much to the chagrin of his mentor and fellow apprentices.
Shortly after earning his warrior name, his parents abruptly were lost two loose twoleg dogs traversing the mountainous terrain. Feeling lost, he took to wandering the borders of the Clan. He soon caught the eyes of cats across the border, and despite the warrior code forbidding such actions, he returned the favor.
There were several cats, but they were short flings, no more than a night or two. It wasn’t until he met Snowcrunch, a warrior of ValleyClan, did he give a cat more than a few fleeting moments. They spent time for weeks together, before parting ways.
A few moons later, Snowcrunch informed Ambersplash in secret that she was expecting his kits. She chose to keep her kits with her birth Clan, wanting to keep their father a secret. Two ValleyClan mates and longtime friends, Deersong and Acornfang, agreed to keep Snowcrunch’s kits’ heritage a secret. They would tell ValleyClan that the two wanted kits, and Snowcrunch decided to carry. When Ambersplash turned 20 moons old, Cherrykit and Waspkit were born.
Several moons later, Snowcrunch was lost to an adder nest, several bites striking her at once. She was already with StarClan by the time her body returned. Ambersplash mourned the loss of Snowcrunch quietly, but his attention turned to Cherrykit and Waspkit.
When the pair turned 3 moons old, Ambersplash met a patrol of Deersong and Acornfang at the border. He demanded to be taken to Twostar, so that he could claim what he believed to be his rightful kits. The two fathers barred the RockClan warrior, pointing out they already had two fathers: they needed no others. This argument escalated, the two warriors insisting that Ambersplash not enter ValleyClan territory. Beyond impatient, and astounded the warriors would deny him, Ambersplash struck out with blind fury.
Shocked, Deersong’s throat was cut open. He hadn’t yet laid a paw on the warrior. With a couple of gurgles, he crumpled to the floor, bleeding out onto the grassy knoll of ValleyClan territory.
While Acornfang carried Deersong’s body back, Ambersplash followed. Acornfang was too wrought with grief to oppose.
Arriving at camp, Twostar met Ambersplash, along with the rest of the Clan. There, they learned of Cherrykit and Waspkit’s true heritage. Ambersplash begged his kits to come back with him, before he would be escorted off territory. Cherrykit refused, seeing her dead father before her, while Waspkit chose to leave.
Ambersplash would then raise Waspkit in RockClan, as his sole father.
Turning 40 moons old, another warrior caught his eye, finally, so long after losing Snowcrunch:
Her name was Sparkthroat, of StreamClan. The two courted in secret, behind the backs of Spiderstar of RockClan, and Thistlestar of StreamClan. Sparkthroat soon found herself with kits, Ambersplash over the moon that he would be father to more. With the hostility and tension felt between RockClan and StreamClan, this relationship was kept secret.
Several quarter-moons after the kits were born, a shocking mistake on his end —trespassing onto StreamClan territory— revealed the truth of their heritage. Thistlestar was furious, increasing border patrols and bordering on turning to violence towards the other Clan.
One evening, Ambersplash snuck the kits out of StreamClan, with the help of Sparkthroat. They fled to RockClan under the cover of night.
Thistlestar declared war upon finding out the kits were stolen from StreamClan. He vowed to set this wrongdoing committed by RockClan against his own Clan right.
The night Addersnap called a meeting among the four Clans in secret, Ambersplash attended, with Sparkthroat and his StreamClan kits. Addersnap revealed her plan to escape the Clan territories to seek peace elsewhere. Fearing for his family, Ambersplash and Sparkthroat agreed to leave with Addersnap, leaving Clan life behind.
When Ambersplash made it to the ocean coast with Addersnap’s band, he and his family took to the new life like fish to water. They relished the freedom from Thistlestar’s war. When Addersnap received her sign from StarClan that it was time to return, Ambersplash refused, wishing to stay with Sparkthroat and their kits. Several other rogues agreed to stay with them, leaving roughly a third of the group along the ocean coastline. Ambersplash promised Addersnap that she and her Clan, StreamClan, would always be welcome should they travel so far once more.
The ocean band of rogues never heard from the Clans again. Quietly, Ambersplash retired to be an elder in this growing community of rogues. He has lived a quiet life with his family ever since.

Sparkthroat was born littermates to Firestar, the late leader of StreamClan. At 35 moons, she fell in love with Ambersplash, warrior from RockClan. She had his kits in secret, but the pair were unable to keep it secret for too long.
One fateful day, Ambersplash was seen on StreamClan territory with her and their kits. Immediate hostility faced Sparkthroat and her kits, with only her brother there to provide comfort. As hostility grew from bristling fur to unsheathed claws, Sparkthroat knew that their kits weren’t safe under Thistlestar’s reign. She quietly snuck them to Ambersplash within the night, to flee to RockClan.
When Addersnap called for the secret meeting of the clan cats, she agreed to leave with her kits and Ambersplash. They traveled within Addersnap’s band, finding herself in her forever home along the ocean. There, she and her kits thrived.
When Addersnap received her vision from StarClan that it was time to return, Sparkthroat declined, along with Ambersplash and their kits. She and her family, along with a few others who wanted to leave Clan life behind forever, chose to stay. There, she lived a long, comfortable life, retiring to become an elder.

Name: Willowchomp
Name Meaning:
Willow - for her willowy fur
Chomp - for her large jaw and powerful bite
Gender: Mollie (She/her, trans)
Age: 82 moons [as of Oct. 2021]
Rank: Deputy
Clan: RockClan
Willowchomp has been an active member of RockClan her whole life. She was an apprentice during the war between RockClan and StreamClan, and was taught to battle ferociously. However, her natural empathy prompted her to abandon violence unless absolutely necessary when the war was brought to a close, and she was made a warrior. She then served her Clan as a noble and loyal warrior for many moons, known for her kindness and emotional strength. As relationships between the Clans shifted and became a bit more open, the warrior began to hold the belief that borders were only ways to divide the Clans. When Spiderstar died during the Great Flood, the new leader, Morningstar, was tasked with picking a new deputy. For Willowchomp's endless loyalty to RockClan, her experience as a warrior, and her good relations with cats in the other Clans, Morningstar chose the molly as her deputy.
Throughout the time of the four Clans living in WoodClan and ValleyClan territory, the new deputy grew quite close to one of her friends in StreamClan--the healer, Flamedancer. They'd been affectionate before, but it was during this time that Flamedancer revealed her love for Willowchomp--and her fear that the deputy would not love her back. However, Willowchomp supported her friend, and proposed that they use this time to try out a relationship. After they realized their mutual love, Flamedancer decided she would move to RockClan following the graduation of her apprentice, Bluespark. Flamedancer then became Flamepaw as she trained under Morningstar as a warrior, and upon her graduation, she took up the name Flamespirit. She and Willowchomp finally became mates, officially beginning their lives together.
Meanwhile, Willowchomp grew close to the ghostly lynx, Minerva. She began to follow Minerva's guidance over that of StarClan's, as StarClan faded more and more from the Clans. When Spiderstar and Adderstar began to manipulate the Clans, Willowchomp remained mainly unswayed, a pillar of strength for her Clan. However, her disdain for her leader began to form as Morningstar retained her trust in her starry ancestors. When the Dark Forest began to bring cats under their wing, Willowchomp fell prey to their manipulation, and was swayed into training with them at night--though she was unaware that they were the Dark Forest. Her mate was unaware, until Willowchomp tried one night to oppose the leader of the Dark Forest: Thistlestar. Despite her size and strength, she was nearly killed, and Flamespirit awoke to her mate's wounds. Sending messengers to the other Clans for their healers' assistance, it became clear that many cats across all four Clans were not waking.
When Willowchomp did finally wake, she was careful not to sleep during the night, nor tell any who might not know the occurrences of them. Yet, as cats admitted to their attendance, it became clear the full extent of the danger befalling the Clans, as all the cats who confessed to their training fell into a sleep they were unable to wake from. Morningstar, having been honest with her Clan about her attendance, fell into this sleep, leaving Willowchomp as the acting leader of RockClan. Fearing for the safety of her clanmates and of the other Clans, she sent an invitation to each of the Clans around the lake for them to live together in RockClan's territory--believing all four Clans would be stronger together than apart. It became clear as the Clans began to arrive that RockClan--while suffering with the most Dark Forest trainees--was not alone in all their troubles. StreamClan was left leaderless, deputy-less, and healer-less. The only leader was their healer apprentice. WoodClan's deputy had not awoken, leaving only Hazelstar and Smallhope as their leadership. ValleyClan, somehow, remained strong--only their healer absent.
Willowchomp decided to speak with Minerva, and request guidance for their situation. It was then that Minerva revealed her ties to the Shade--the true leader behind the Dark Forest. Willowchomp, feeling betrayed by Minerva's lack of action, abandoned her trust in the lynx, and returned home.
Upon the arrival of the Dark Forest in the waking world, Willowchomp fought hard alongside her mate to allow for the Meteor Pool to remain safe, and for the Dark Forest to be locked back away. Despite Minerva's role in saving the Clans, Willowchomp could not look past the lynx's roll in causing this strife for her family.
Yet, all was not lost. Willowchomp and Flamespirit were gifted with a strong, healthy litter of kits after the Clans all returned home. Even in the wake of sadness and despair as friends parted from one another, and loyalties were divided, Turtlekit, Lionkit, Lilykit, Mudkit, and Cloudkit brought hope for the couple. Even when Willowchomp felt the weight of her decisions, her family supported her and brought her happiness. Things finally began to look up for the deputy--though she still held much anger toward her leader...
It was a relief and a gift to Willowchomp when she was picked out by a group of massive, strange cats as the cat they had travelled for many moons to find. They revealed that Willowchomp was to become their Heir--allowing for her to rule a group of cats by her own will, and escape the troubles that seemed to plague her in RockClan, still.
Yet, one must wonder...how will her family take the news...?
