Activity Standards
To be a part of this group, all members are expected to follow these activity guidelines:
1. Roleplayers are encouraged to roleplay at least a few times a month. This is not a mandatory rule, as life, education, jobs, etc. can get in the way of roleplaying! Think of this as an expectation, but not a required rule.
2. Roleplayers must attend mandatory gatherings. This is a mandatory standard. Gatherings are held periodically throughout the year, typically starting from 8PM EST Thursday to Midnight EST Sunday of the last weekend of the month. While not every gathering is mandatory, some will require attendance of all members for plot-related reasons (There will be a month's notice ahead of time!) It is required to post at least one roleplay post during this time, which can be as simple as your cat's thoughts on the news, a post about your cat staying back at camp, etc. To learn more about the Gatherings, go here! If you are unable to provide a roleplay post during the time of the Gathering, contact a moderator ahead of time. You will then have until before the next Gathering begins to provide any moderator with a roleplay post to meet this activity check.
3. Roleplayers are all expected to complete mandatory activity assignments. Activity assignments are posted throughout the year as activity checks, with prompts to be answered in related to the plot. Along with answering the prompt, you will also be required to provide all of your active character's updated, current ages at the time of your activity assignment submission. Due dates for assignments vary based on the time of year (i.e. summer vacations, finals, holidays, etc.), as well as overall current roleplay activity, but typically range between 3-5 months after the assignment is posted. In regards to answering the prompt, if you have multiple active characters, don't sweat it! A minimum of one response total is needed to answer the prompt, regardless of which of your active character responds to the assignment. The following submission types are accepted for these assignments:
Writing - Writing may be submitted either as a roleplay with a partner(s) or a written submission created by yourself. The amount of writing must be a minimum of 250 words. That means if you roleplay with a partner(s), the submission should total to a minimum of 250 words for all participants in the roleplay.
Artwork - Artwork may be submitted towards your activity check. Art submissions require a minimum of a fullbody depiction of the character with flatcolors. Any additional rendering (clean lines, shading, background, additional characters, etc.) may be added to earn points.
This is a mandatory standard. Failure to complete activity assignments can result in a failed activity check! To find the current activity assignment, visit #activity-assignment in the ooc discord server! Please note: You are not expected to complete any activity assignments that are due within 60 days after your join date. So, if you join January 1st, you would not be subjected to activity checks until March 1st.
High Rank Activity Standards
In addition to the above standards, high ranks (leaders, deputies, healers, and healer apprentices) are also expected to adhere to the following standards by having a high rank:
1. Participation in every Gathering is mandatory. If you feel as though you won't be able to attend a scheduled gathering, it is your responsibility to contact a moderator and provide a roleplay post before the gathering for your high ranked character. If it's a plot-related gathering, the moderators will provide context as needed!
2. High ranks may be approached by the moderators for plot-related development. We will give you a week's advance notice your character's input is needed, and after given the plot information, you will have a week to provide your character's thoughts/actions in relation to the plot. This timeline can be flexible, depending on your schedule. This does not have to be a formal roleplay post! Bullet points/a general idea is fine, but please keep in mind the moderators may ask for more information as needed! This means that high ranks have the potential to influence the direction/aspects of the group's plot.
3. High ranks are expected to RP with another RPer at least once every two months with their high ranking character. This is so that characters have accessibility to those in power and authority, and so that various plots can be progressed and started!
4. High ranks have very limited hiatus opportunities. Requests for a hiatus by someone who RPs a high ranking character will be handled on a case-by-case basis, taking into account frequency of prior requests, hiatus length, and other factors. Frequent or long-running hiatuses will be much more likely to result in the revocation of that rank. Mods retain the right to revoke high ranks if hiatuses are abused.
On top of our standard activity assignments for all members, high ranks are subjected to Activity Surveys to ensure adherence to the above standards. These are done at random throughout the month to ensure not only activity of the high rank, but overall member activity as well. With these surveys, we also factor in real life events going on for the RPer as they're comfortable sharing, to check in and ensure continued interest of continuing to have a high rank.
If a high rank fails several activity surveys, the high rank may be revoked from the member and put up again for audition.
Activity Checks
At the due date of an activity assignment, the moderators will check to see if everyone has adhered to the above standards. Failure to do so will result in being put on an activity warning. Activity warning status is removed with the next completion of an activity check. Failing an activity check while on an activity warning will result in being removed from the group.
For an illustrative example: John was unable to attend a mandatory gathering and complete his activity assignment due in July, and has been given an activity warning. If John completes the next activity check following the one due in July, his activity warning status will be removed. If he does not complete the next activity check, he will be removed from the group.
Extensions
Extensions can be requested up to one week prior to the due date of an assignment. Once granted, your assignment will be due one week past the due date. Please keep in mind that repeated, consistent requests for extensions may result in denial later down the road.
Pass for the Activity Check
If a member feels as though they are not able to complete their activity check, the member can use their activity check ticket on discord to ask for a pass for that activity period. Passes will be granted within reason (schoolwork, jobs, home life, etc.). Please understand that if you are undergoing a hardship, you are not required to elaborate on said hardship. We don't need to know details, just need to know that a pass is needed. Once approved, the member will have a pass for the current activity check.
Passes may only be granted once every other activity check. Meaning, if you use a pass for the current activity check, you could not request one for the next check, but the following check afterwards you may request one once again.
How to Submit your Activity Assignment for the Activity Check
Within the official Rise of the Clans discord, use the ticket bot system to open a new ticket. This private ticket channel will be open permanently throughout your entire time in Rise of the Clans, to serve as your submission method for your activity check. Submit the following two items within this channel to complete your activity check:
+ A direct link to/directly upload your answer to the activity assignment
+ All of your character's ages updated properly at the time of your submission
The moderator team will respond to let you know if you have completed the activity check, or if changes are necessary to meet the minimum activity requirements. If your character's ages are slightly off due to miscalculation, don't worry! The moderator team will work with you to calculate the correct ages and rank your characters should be.
If you have any questions, please ask in #quickfire-queries or open a ticket in the ooc server! Thank you!
