OVERVIEW
Shrouded in foliage, WoodClan spends most of their life underneath the barrier of trees they call home. They are best known for their dutiful behavior, patrols never being missed and borders maintained perfectly. WoodClan has a strong sense of community and support, which is reflected in their choice of specialty rank -- the counselor, trained to aid their Clanmates through their mental woes and resolve internal conflict.

TERRITORY
WoodClan territory is best characterized by the tight pine trees that cover the territory. Only WoodClanners know their way around the forest; newcomers are prone to getting lost and end up walking around in circles until a WoodClan patrol leads them out-that is, if they grow bored of watching the newcomer wander aimlessly! A trained warrior's eye is able to pick up the small winding paths that lead to the Thunderpath, the camp, and the training grounds. The main prey here are mice, squirrels, and songbirds, and very rarely, owls. The main predators are foxes, badgers, martens, large owls, and raccoons. The cats here are typically striped and dark colored, to best blend in with their territory.

WoodClan prides itself on having obscure territory that they can quite literally disappear into within the blink of an eye. As a result, patrolling and maintaining the border is extremely important to this Clan. WoodClan cats also pride themselves on how good they are at hiding, and at younger ages often play hide and seek with one another to practice hiding in the territory. There is a strong sense of community and support for one another, as the forest of their territory gives off the impression of total privacy. One of the first training activities for new apprentices is to train their apprentice how to navigate their tricky territory. Naughty, adventurous kits are prone to getting lost in the territory if they make it out of camp, resulting in loud crying that experienced warriors can pinpoint almost immediately.

Following the murder of Bluefern and the eventual execution of Graybriar for his death, WoodClan’s morale was low. Hazelstar and Owlshine, then Leader and Deputy of WoodClan, sought for a way to improve their Clan’s attitude for the better. The role of Counselors, unlike the combat focused ranks of Warriors, are there to act as a comforting paw for their Clanmates, and are expected to put aside any judgement or prejudice to be the branch between the leadership of WoodClan and the cats that serve them. They are not expected to participate in border patrols, and are the last picks for any hunting patrols to ensure their presence whenever a cat needs them. A cat can begin training underneath the Counselors after completing their Warrior’s training.
WoodClan Camp
Location
In the thick, tight pine forest WoodClan calls home, there is a single, large clearing that serves as WoodClan's camp. On either side, large thick bushes serve as both dens and the camp's walls. At the end of the clearing, a large, long dead oak serves as the Leader's Den. Sometimes for fun, or to take a nap, warriors of WoodClan will shelter in the large, gnarled branches of the dead oak. Because this is the only place the forest opens up, this is the one part of the territory where sunlight can directly touch the grass underpaw. Because this is the one clearing, it's virtually impossible to locate this camp to complete strangers of this forest.
Dens
Giant, thick bushes serve as the dens for WoodClan. While not pitch dark like the burrows of RockClan, the thick leaves and tangling branches of the bushes make these dens very, very dark overall. Cats must be careful not to trip over the large, thick roots: if a warrior's not careful, they're easy to trip over. Rarely, there are nooks and bends in the bushes that make the perfect lofted nests, for the very particular.

12/1/2019: Wild hogs stampeded through the territory, trampling plants and putting cats in danger.
1/1/2020 - 2/1/2020: 10-12 moons after Start Date
2/1/2020: WoodClan is facing a territory-wide famine: prey is scarce and rare. What little prey that is caught is scrawny and barely worth the effort catching.
2/19/2020: Hazelstar has declared Minerva the Oracle a threat to the Clans, WoodClan specifically. Sightings or signs of Minerva on WoodClan territory are to be immediately reported to Hazelstar or Ravenscar.
3/1/2020: 14 moons after Start Date
3/1/2020: Territory-wide nonstop rainfall has caused what very little prey there was to seek refuge underground. Prey is almost nonexistent, and WoodClan is running out of options.
3/7/2020: RockClan cats have taken refuge within WoodClan's territory. Hazelstar has granted permission for all four Clans to have access to WoodClan territory, to support one another.
3/11/2020 (Season change): New-leaf begins
3/21/2020: Whitepaw has taken up healer apprenticeship under Mudgarden.
4/1/2020: 16 moons after Start Date
4/25/2020: The rain has finally stopped falling over all four Clans, and the floodwaters have receded to safe levels. RockClan have left WoodClan's territory, to rebuild their home.
5/1/2020-7/1/2020: 18-22 moons after Start Date
6/1/2020 (Season change): Greenleaf begins
7/11/2020: Whitepaw has received his full healer name, Whitethorn. Mudgarden has retired from healer duties, to become a warrior, due to expecting kits. Spiderstar oversaw this ceremony alone, and not in StarClan, but besides the Meteor Pool on earth.
8/1/2020 - 11/1/2020: 24-30 moons after Start Date
9/13/2020 (Season change): Leaf-fall begins
11/8/2020: Hazelstar visited Minerva the Oracle to discuss the recent actions of Spiderstar and Adderstar. The albino lynx informed the leader of WoodClan that Spiderstar and Adderstar are not acting with the intentions of StarClan, and that true StarClan is far, far away from the Clans. She informed the leader that she would endeavor to enter StarClan's hunting grounds, having been banished countless moons ago.
11/15/2020: Smallpaw has taken up healer apprenticeship under Whitethorn.
12/1/2020 - 2/1/2021: 32 moons after Start Date
12/1/2020 (Season change): Leaf-bare begins
2/13/2021: Ivypool and Palesky, warriors of RockClan, arrived to WoodClan's camp in the middle of the night, reporting news of Willowchomp's life-threatening injuries. Hazelstar of WoodClan woke up to the commotion, sending Whitethorn, Smallpaw, and Mudgarden, despite him stepping down, for healer aid. The rest of WoodClan awakens, but discovers that some cats cannot be roused. The following cats did not wake: Ravenscar, Crowfrost, Fawnpaw, Graybriar, and Shinesoul.
2/18/2021: Graybriar, Yellowleaf, Squirrelpaw, and Fawnpaw have left WoodClan, to join ShadeClan.
2/18/2021: Flamespirit visited WoodClan, informing the Clan of Willowchomp's invitation to temporarily stay in RockClan's territory. Hazelstar has agreed to this offer.
3/1/2021 (Age-Up): 38 moons after Start Date
3/3/2021 (Season change): Newleaf begins
3/4/2021: Whitethorn has stepped down as healer of WoodClan: ever since Ryesnap's death, the healer felt as though he couldn't fulfill the role for WoodClan any longer. Smallpaw received her full healer name, Smallhope, and remains WoodClan's sole healer.

The Four Clans met to defend Minerva the Oracle that evening, spread across RockClan's camp, RockClan's territory, the Gathering Place, and finally the Meteor Pool. The Dark Forest, brought into the realm of the living by a piercing shriek of the Shade, became like the living once more, walking in their realm of existence....

5/8/2021: Following Hazelstar’s announcement, WoodClan have returned home to their territory, from their temporary time within RockClan.
5/15/2021 (Season change): Greenleaf begins
6/1/2021 - 8/1/2021: 44-48 moons after Start Date
8/19/2021: In the middle of the night, WoodClan’s camp was briefly lit by the glowing red light of a falling white ball of flames soaring across the sky. It fell somewhere past RockClan’s territory, where the faint outline of the mountains could be seen.
9/1/2021 (Age-Up): 50 moons after Start Date
9/10/2021: Following Ravenscar’s formal announcement regarding his retirement from deputyship, WoodClan held a Clanwide celebration out within the Mushroom Grove. All ages were invited, save for kits younger than 2 moons and unable to travel. Celebrations began with a picnic, followed by a Clanwide competition for who could find the biggest pinecone. Redwillow came in first place, Pumpkinlight came in second place, Tansyshade came in third place, and Bluefern and Smallhope were the two runner ups.

11/13/2021: The Fjell’Byr patrol has formally let WoodClan know that Willowchomp was not the heir they were looking for, and that they are still searching. If any WoodClan cat feels they may hear the call of the mountains, they are urged to reach out to the patrol, staying at the Gathering Place…
12/1/2021 (Age-Up): 56 moons after Start Date
12/1/2021 (Season change): Leafbare begins
12/1/2021: After several moons, Ravenscar decided it was time for his formal warrior ceremony, to retire as deputy. Hazelstar held his ceremony, giving him the new name, Ravenheart.
Hazelstar then announced WoodClan’s next deputy: Owlshine would be WoodClan’s new deputy.
12/3/2021: In the middle of the night, the entirety of WoodClan feels an eerie, unwelcome presence disturb their slumber from somewhere beyond their understanding. To several, this unwelcome presence is very familiar…
12/13/2021: With rumors stirring among the Clans, Goldenpaw decided to seek out the Fjell patrol at the Gathering Place, feeling some sort of calling from the mountains. He asked the Val’Kuum if perhaps he was the cat they sought.
Val’Kuum Jagged confirmed that Goldenpaw was not the heir, but that since he still heard the call of the mountains, that he was still free to join them on their journey back to Fjell’Byr. They extend this invitation to the rest of WoodClan, as well.
Goldenpaw returns to camp, and doesn’t report what he has been offered by the Fjell patrol to the WoodClan high ranks. Instead, he spreads rumors among the apprentices. Apprentice gossip soon turned to elder gossip, which then became Clan gossip among WoodClan.
Intrigued by the rumors and gossip, WoodClan’s healer Venomlily approaches the Fjell patrol at the Gathering Place, feeling some sort of calling to the mountains. Val’Kuum Jagged confirms that she is not the heir, but she is welcome to join them returning home. She agreed to traveling, and returned to WoodClan.
She told Smallhope and Shrikefang first, then her closest Clanmates, then finally Hazelstar, of everything she had heard and agreed to at the Gathering Place.
After consideration, Goldenpaw agrees to leave as well.
1/1/2022 (Age-Up): 58 moons after Start Date
1/16/2022: Goldenpaw, Venomlily, Cinnamonsnap, Skunkblossom, Tansyshade, Troutsplash, and Frostlily have left WoodClan to join Fjell’Byr.
2/1/2022 (Age-Up): 60 moons after Start Date
2/27/2022: A border patrol has reported finding Graybriar and RockClan warrior Cindershade at the border. Graybriar is soaked, with blood all over the scene. Cindershade informed the patrol that he was on RockClan’s territory, and saw signs of conflict within the shared border.
There is no body, but it is quickly determined that Bluefern was killed in this struggle.
WoodClan held a vigil, then requested another trial between RockClan and WoodClan, to determine the true culprit to Bluefern’s demise.
3/1/2022: 62 moons after Start Date
3/7/2022 (Season change): Newleaf begins
3/9/2022: After deliberation, it is determined that the RockClan warrior Cindershade is innocent. Graybriar murdered his brother, and would be executed by the Clan.
Hazelstar called for the patrol, consisting of Owlshine, Shrikefang, Ravenheart, Redwillow, Yellowleaf, Rosebite, Ashstomp, and Pinepath.
Rosebite would serve as the executioner.
There was no vigil held for Graybriar.
3/16/2022: Following the execution of Graybriar, Owlshine and Hazelstar introduced a new rank to WoodClan:
Counsellors would be instituted, as a permanent rank within the Clan.
Counsellors would be warriors who volunteer to serve their Clan as a counsellor for the rest of their days. They would serve as a link between the high ranks and Clanmates, a source to share their troubles with a trusted advisor. They would provide mediation to inter-Clan conflicts.
Ashstomp, Mothpounce, Squirrelscar, Beetlebloom, and Flax became the first WoodClan counsellors.
3/19/2022: Deputy Owlshine announced to his Clan that he would like to offer personal counsel to those who trained in the Dark Forest. As a memorial for those who suffered at the Claws of the Dark Forest, a Clanwide vigil would be held.
He encouraged Clanmates to volunteer to provide counselling, as well.
4/1/2022: 64 moons after Start Date
4/5/2022: To celebrate the coming of a new season, WoodClan’s deputy Owlshine called for a WoodClan new-leaf celebration. A hunting competition and a scavenger hunt were held, ending with a Clanwide feast at the end of the day.
Hazelstar won the hunting competition, in second place came Jackdawcry, and in third place was Doefrost. The runner-up was Pinepath.
Ashstomp won the scavenger hunt, and other members of WoodClan found discoveries in their hunt.
5/1/2022: 66 moons after Start Date
5/7/2022: Following the tornado that devastated ValleyClan’s territory, Hazelstar sent a patrol consisting of Smallhope, Shrikefang, Yellowleaf, Flax, and Owlshine to aid the Clan.
5/27/2022 (Season change): Greenleaf begins
6/1/2022 - 9/1/2022: 68-74 moons after Start Date
9/8/2022: Ravenheart and Hazelstar called a Clan meeting, to announce that Hazelstar would be formally retiring as the Clan’s leader, to join the Elders’ den with Ravenheart. Owlshine would become the next leader of WoodClan, recognized by his new name, Owlstar.
Pumpkinlight became WoodClan’s deputy.
10/1/2022 (Age-Up): 76 moons after Start Date
10/4/2022 (Season change): Leaf-fall begins
10/16/2022: Smallhope officially retired as WoodClan’s healer, to join the elders’ den.
10/22/2022: Pumpkinlight reported sightings of a real, spectral ghost haunting the WoodClan territory. With this discovery, came the realization that ghosts walked among the living.
11/1/2022 - 2/1/2023: 78-84 moons after Start Date
12/1/2022 (Season change): Leaf-bare begins
2/01/2023: During a raging storm, lightning strikes near the WoodClan camp, setting the surrounding area on fire. By the time the clan is lucid, the blaze is too far progressed to stop it.
The clan makes an escape for the lakeshore, saving what they can from the healer’s den. The event is not without loss of life, nor does everyone escape unscathed. It’s a harsh time as they recover from the devastating blow.
3/1/2023 (Age-Up): 86 moons after Start Date
3/1/2023 (Season change): Newleaf begins
2/01/2023: Smallhope’s vigil is held after she had been murdered at the gathering. It remains uncertain who the killer was.

8/2/2023: A strange scent has appeared on WoodClan territory; feline in origin, but no one seems to be able to discern it.
Harvestbristle is soon after found dead, killed by a hidden twoleg trap a gruesome sight to all involved.

12/1/2023 (Season change): Leaf-bare begins
2/22/2024: Rosebite was attacked while on a solo patrol by a rabid fox, after attempting to evade the animal she entered battle with it and sustained a bite wound on her leg. Owlstar, out in the territory at the time, fends off the fox while sustaining his own injuries, including a lost life.
After some time, Rosebite decides to put herself to sleep to prevent the course of the disease. A vigil is held in her honour.

7/02/2024: ValleyClan consulted WoodClan for aid following their leader, Midnightstar, executing a Clanmate for simply disagreeing with her. Midnightstar deserted camp, and ValleyClan's deputy, Muddystep, followed after to confront her regarding the decision. Neither have been spotted, since. In their absence, healers Stonehawk, Clouddancer, and their apprentice Spiritpaw, attempt to serve as a leader for the Clan.
The ValleyClan patrol requested help in ousting their leader with nine lives from the Clan, so that they may be free of her tyrannical reign. WoodClan have promised to aid ValleyClan.
8/1/2024: 120 moons after Start Date
8/30/2024: That evening, every WoodClan cat was visited in their dreams by a StarClan warrior, claiming to have a message for them. The message received could easily be interpreted as a warning... Upon waking, the decision to share the dream was left to the Clanmate.
