Start: Porington City – Office Building (1F, left side)

Karl lends money to people in need, promising the lowest interest rates. He barely earns anything from it. Still, he grants you a loan for the reconstruction of Avon City. How could you ever repay this sum?

Stage 1 – Earn Money


You’ll meet Karl in the office building in Porington City. He plays an important role in rebuilding Avon City and offers you a loan.

Stage 2 – Repay Your Debt


If you accept Karl’s loan, he gives you the task of repaying ₽1,000,000. The amount seems huge at first, but later in the game it becomes easier to earn large sums of money. The “Treasure Hunter” quest is especially helpful for gathering high amounts of cash. You can start repaying it once you've won the League Tournament.

Stage 3 – Catch the Diamond


Once you’ve fully repaid your debt, Karl reveals his business secret — a Pokémon said to be able to create diamonds has made him rich. He tells you where to find Diancie. It then becomes catchable inside Mt. Aoraki. The cave entrance is located along Route 18, heading west from Avon City toward Paiata.

Stage 4 – Talk to Karl

After catching Diancie, show it to Karl. He’ll reward you with its corresponding Mega Stone, and the quest will end.
