Level Cap System
To prevent over-leveling during the main story and to keep battles exciting despite the large world map, maximum level limits are applied for each stage of the game. This restriction is lifted once the main story is completed. The following limits apply:
Up to Level 17: from the beginning
Up to Level 22: after earning the 1st Badge
Up to Level 28: after earning the 2nd Badge
Up to Level 35: after earning the 3rd Badge
Up to Level 45: after earning the 4th Badge
Up to Level 50: after completing the reconstruction of Avon City
Up to Level 55: after earning the 5th Badge
Up to Level 60: after earning the 6th Badge
Up to Level 65: after earning the 7th Badge
Up to Level 100: after winning the League Tournament
Shiny Chance
The base shiny rate for wild Pokémon is 1 in 2000. With the Shiny Charm, this rate improves to roughly 1 in 1350. It can be further reduced when using the Link Charm.
HMs / Field Effects / Skills
In Pokémon Hero Legacy, HMs are replaced by Field Effects.
A Pokémon in the player’s team does not need to learn a Field Effect, but must theoretically be able to use the corresponding move.
Field Effects can be activated from the Ready Menu (default key: D).
These Field Effects can be unlocked:
1st Badge – Cut
2nd Badge – Rock Smash
3rd Badge – Surf
4th Badge – Fly
5th Badge – Strength
6th Badge – Dive
7th Badge – Waterfall
8th Badge – Rock Climb
Quests & Progress
Characters involved in a main or side quest are marked with an exclamation mark in the overworld. Each quest appears in the Quest Log with a short description and the current objective. Quests can also be viewed on the map, showing where the next objective is located (if available).
Recurring Items
Some overworld items are not marked with the classic Poké Ball, but instead appear as natural objects. For example, a Heat Rock can be found near a lava stone, or a Absorb Bulb may appear near sprouts. These items respawn after a cooldown period of 1–7 days, depending on the item. In addition, certain areas allow you to dig for items using a shovel. One random item is selected from a predefined pool, and these locations can also be revisited after a cooldown period.
