Start: House in Nepia (entire quest available only at night)
Ziva tells strange stories about an alien force, lost souls, weird signals and a dragon universe. She seems completely insane...
Stage 1 – Earn the 8th Badge
The quest giver, Ziva, will only speak to you once you’ve earned at least eight Gym Badges. Follow the “Aoroa Challenge” quest and return later.
Stage 2 – Battle Ziva
Ziva wants to see if you have what it takes and challenges you to a battle.
Stage 3 – Nightly Meeting
Meet Ziva at night in Nepia Castle. The castle ruins, now used as a cemetery, are located in the southern part of Nepia.
Stage 4 – Ziva in the Crypt
You’re asked to follow Ziva into the crypt of Nepia. Move east through the castle ruins to find the crypt entrance.
Stage 5 – Catch a Litwick
Ziva believes that a Litwick could be useful when investigating the crypt. Catch a Litwick and enter the crypt again. The game checks for Litwick’s presence in your party when passing through the castle ruins from west to east. Two glowing candles will change color if you have Litwick with you. The crypt will then reveal another passage, allowing the quest to continue.
Stage 6 – Catch a Lampent
The next crypt section becomes accessible when you have a Lampent in your team. The check again happens outside, where two more candles change color from orange-red to blue-violet. Enter the newly revealed section to continue the quest.
Stage 7 – Catch a Chandelure
The next crypt section becomes accessible when you have a Chandelure in your team. The check again happens outside, where two more candles change color from orange-red to blue-violet. Enter the newly revealed section to continue the quest.
Stage 8 – The Lights United
The final crypt section becomes accessible only when you have Litwick, Lampent, and Chandelure in your party. From then on, the entire crypt remains fully accessible. Continue the quest in the new chamber at the northern end of the crypt.
Stage 9 – The Crypt’s Riddle
By now, you’ve gathered several hints suggesting that this object is actually the cocoon of Yveltal. To solve the puzzle, activate the blue-violet candles so that they form a “Y” shape. Speak with Chandelure and Ziva for guidance. Once the pattern is complete, Yveltal awakens from its slumber and escapes from the crypt.
Stage 10 – The Messenger of Death
Ziva awaits you in Nepia Castle. In the background, Yveltal can already be seen. Talk to Ziva to continue the quest.
Stage 11 – Catch Yveltal
Battle Yveltal and try to catch it. If you defeat it, it will flee and can only be challenged again the following day. The quest continues once Yveltal has been captured.
Stage 12 – Talk to Ziva
Visit Ziva in her house to learn more about the mysterious events and complete the quest. Before leaving, make sure to talk to Gastly. You’ll receive the Gracidea Flower, required for the “Flowers of Gratitude” quest. From now on, Xerneas will also be catchable on Route 10.
