Karl talks about a special item that only Pikachu can use. Apparently it can even pass down a certain move.

Stage 1 – Show Karl a Pikachu


Catch a Pikachu and show it to Karl. He’ll reward you with the item Light Ball.

Stage 2 – Pikachu with Volt Tackle


Karl wants to see a Pikachu that knows the move Volt Tackle. Give your Pikachu the Light Ball to hold, breed a Pichu that knows Volt Tackle, and evolve it into Pikachu. Afterwards, Karl will challenge you to a battle.
