The New PLES Production Crew: Episode 3

This Episode included PLES top news and an interview with Coach Washington PLES' new PE coach.

PLES News Crew

The News Crew started in Spring 2024 with the four students who applied with parent approval and a teacher recommendation. Each student wrote stories, recorded videos, and created graphics in Canva to make a weekly news cast to share with PLES.

NEXT STEPS: PLES was selected as one of three schools in the county to potentially have a fully operational production room. In the production room the PLES News Crew will continue their work by learning about film and video: video production fundamentals. This will prepare our PLES students for a film and video production CTAE pathway in high school if they choose to do so.

STEM Ambassador Application

STEM Ambassadors started in 2023 with three fourth graders and three fifth graders. Drew May, former instructional coach, started STEM Ambassadors based on the same program at our feeder school, Adairsville Middle School. STEM Ambassadors now have to complete an application and complete an interview. Students third through fifth grade can become STEM Ambassadors. This allows students to gain the skills needed for both the hospitality industry as well as the CTAE Teaching as a Profession pathway.

This is the permission slip for the 2025-2026 PLES ESports Team

2025-2026 PLES Esports Team got 1st place (back-to-back) at the annual Mario Day competition.

This is the first Mario Kart stream by PLES ESports. It was released Oct. 24, 2025

In April of 2026 the PLES Esports Team recorded and produced an Episode in front of the first live studio audience in the new production room.

PLES CONSTRUCTION CO.

Mrs. Hammond, Mrs. Hughes, and Mr. May received donated tools and supplies from Construction Ready.

During the 2025-2026 school year the PIne Log Construction Crew built a bee hotel for the Sensory Garden to help protect our local solitary bees.

PLES finished 2nd overall in the 2026 Math Fest

PIctured is Mrs. Card with her 3rd grade math team. The Number Ninjas 1 and Number Ninjas 2 earned 1st and 2nd place at the 2026 Math Fest at Georgia Highlands College.
