Excelling will look like: Teachers, instructional coaches, and administrators have on-going STEM professional learning and STEM-specific strategies relating to the school's identified STEM overarching PBL focus topic. There is pervasive evidence of implementation in classroom instruction.
In addition to addressing STEM-integration within our Collaborative Meetings, we also attend STEM Walks throughout our district and in surrounding counties.
This survey was sent to all certified staff at PLES. This question asked which school(s) the teachers have toured.
Dr. Pulliam, PLES Principal, supports efforts for all certified staff, who have not previously attended a STEM Walk or STEM Showcase, to attend one during the 2025-2026 school year. As of February 2024, 63% of our faculty members have participated in a STEM Walk or Showcase and used the information they gleaned to better the STEM opportunities for students at PLES.

PLES Administration is planning STEM-based training based on teacher-reported needs. These areas of training were taken from the GADOE STEM Continuum Indicators. We have Robin Morrow as our Bartow County district representative and resource for training.
We contacted Cherri Nix at GaDOE regarding training, specifically on STEM Journals in 2023. We added the journal header and color-coding system schoolwide based on the presentation from Dimon Academy at the STEM Forum in October 2023.
This survey question was sent to certified staff to learn which areas of STEM-related professional development would be most beneficial.
Q: Which area of STEM would you most want to see examples from another school or have an expert visit to help you/your grade level?
