My artistic interests manifested itself at a very young age. I use to copy my comic books as a way to satisfy the desire to be an artist. The High School I attended in 9th grade had a major in art which I attended. A family move to Appalachia kept me from pursuing my dream to be an artist. In an effort to feed that desire I attended college part time as a young mother and full time worker. Of course my chosen field of study was anything to do with art. Life got complicated, divorce, major moves across country, running my own business, lay offs all kept me from steadily pursuing my art degree. Finally I retired my consulting business and went back to school full time which enabled my to complete my BFA.

When attending the university I took some ceramic classes and completely fell in love with hand building in clay. As a result I have worked in clay, hand building primarily. I love to draw/sketch and am presently working in Sketchbook # 122. I started daily sketching in 2008 after attending a workshop, The Spirit of the Sketch, in Italy. I retired my consulting business around 2008 and have been enjoying being a full time artist since then. It was my childhood dream and I was determined to make it come true.

I enjoy, and work in several mediums; clay, charcoal, wire, pencil, ink pen and all paint mediums. I have chosen a small sample of my work to demonstrate all the areas of my artistic interest. However, I am always interested in finding new mediums to express my creative interests. Presently I am working on collage and also, delving into non representational abstract painting.

I am grateful to have found PAPI. It’s a wonderful group of enthusiastic artists. It offers a chance to be with others that are interested in artistic expression.
