May Spotlight- Darrell Allen

I am Darrell Allen, an artist from Blackfoot Idaho. I primarily work in oil and also enjoy painting with gouache, watercolor, and water-soluble oils. I am the Superintendent for Fine Art at the Eastern Idaho State Fair, and on the boards of the Bingham Arts Council

and Pocatello Art Center. I paint mainly landscapes through outdoor studies and photos, as well as exploring figurative and portrait work. I particularly enjoy the experience of painting alongside fellow artists and greatly appreciate the support of the other PAPI members. A primary goal for me is to develop a consistent painting practice to facilitate artistic growth and skill development. I like to find opportunities to learn and improve my abilities through classes and workshops, including those offered by PAPI. I hope to see you at some of this year’s events such as the Bingham Arts Council Plein Air Paintout, the Driggs Diggs Plein Air, the Pocatello Paint Out, and the Mackay Plein Air, all of which PAPI has helped to sponsor.
