Plein Air Painters of Idaho

Laurie Asahara lives in Eagle, Idaho, where she paints in watercolor, oil,

acrylic, and gouache, and also enjoys taking her easel out of doors to paint

plein air. Her artistic versatility puts her at ease in many genres, including

portrait, landscape, animal,floral, and life drawing. Her paintings have

garnered award winning recognition in both regional and international

competitions, and are included in corporate and personal collections. She has

served as Fine Arts Juror for both the Western and Eastern Idaho State Fairs, as well as other fine art competitions across Idaho. Her work has been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, and regional publications in Idaho. Raised in Hawaii, she attributes her delight in the bold interplay of pigment to having lived her childhood on the tropically lush Big Island where she was surely imprinted with her passion for color.
