It took a while, but the basement gate was eventually repaired and the strange inscriptions in the basement stopped appearing… at least as frequently. Dusty’s party also went off without a hitch, and they had something to share with a few tenants, but not now.
Though, one problem ceases and another oddity rears its ugly head. CRT TVs are common in furniture sets, the mansion, professional, and modest sets all have one included, though they aren’t often seen in other parts of the manor. Well at least that is how you remembered it. Slowly, silently, more and more CRTs were introduced to the manor lounges, dining hall… and hallways? Stacks of them, hardly working…
Then more, printers, radios, a car engine? Technology from 1900 to 1970, all appearing out of nowhere. “New” inventions just kept cropping up and littering the halls, but these were all duds. The manor slowly became a bit of a landfill, and plenty of tenants and staff were getting tired of it.
Weston didn’t seem too bothered though, he was fiddling with a CRT in the lobby when both Willow and York approached him. The conversation was hushed, but tense. Eventually Weston raised his voice.
“It isn’t everyday that we receive gifts like this, even if we do have to work for them. Try to enjoy it, York, you might find some joy in these new projects. And Willow, these are new products, yes? Hehehe…” His genuine looking grin was the polar opposite of Willow and York’s demeanor.
Nevertheless, the two staff members retreated and left Weston behind. Moments later, Weston’s efforts yielded fruit, an image flashing through the static.
“Oh… hello there~” His grin only grew wider. This could be… interesting.
