The manor's handyman can be seen still working on the rumored renovations- something the basement dwellers wouldn't be a stranger to and perhaps got a peek on the progress if they're curious enough to seek it out, being in a closer proximity to the man's work area than others living up above. Neither is it new technology to them, being the method to get to the next floor by some of them.
The elevator itself doesn't look much different on the two floors it connected, but on the inside of it's machineries... if one were able to take a peek further inside which contains the elevator itself, the gap above no longer stretches only to the ground floor. Instead, now it seems to reach even further up. Could it now reach the highest floor of tenants' residence? Possibly. Does it look safe? Well... that's up to one's perspective.
Try as he might, new upgrades tend to be faulty anyway. Not often you'd find something which works perfectly the first time. He won't have any problem getting some of the tenants to try it out though, he's sure, with how much of curious cats and daredevils there are under this roof. With enough practical input and a lot more effort on his part to cover said inputs, this is bound to be a good addition to accomodate the manor's rising heights. In time.
Like how Cass and Seth could've reached the attic faster if they were to peruse the elevators, but being new untested additions to the manor's top floors? It's not strange to hear the two preferring to go the long way around through the staircase. Especially knowing how fussy the chef gets with specifics and methods. Not the old man's problem anyway if they want to trouble themselves with the creaky stairs, saves him hearing the Cofagrigus' rants about how bumpy the ride is, or whatever he finds problematic along the way up.
Just then, his phone rang it's tune. York eyed it for a moment before answering the call, immediately met with angry complaints from the other side. Just what he expected after he had seen who the call was from.
"Shut yer yapping and get to the point! ..... Both of ya stuck in the attic? How in the- Oh that doesn't matter. Hang on tight with the missy and I'll gather all them folks to get ya outta there!"
"Of course they had ta go an' get stuck in the attic when the crypts' been going extra crazy right now", he mumbled under his breath followed with an exasperated sigh. Then York hurried his way upstairs and called out, "Aight which of ya whippersnappers are still awake, we got urgent matter on our hands!"
