Former visiting faculty in Mathematical Sciences at PFW / IPFW

Peter Boyvalenkov, Ph.D., was a Visiting Professor of Mathematics at Purdue University Fort Wayne for Fall 2020. He also visited PFW during Fall 2018, while on sabbatical from the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, where he has served as an Associate Director and a Professor. He received his Ph.D. from Sofia University in 1993 and his Doctor of Science degree from the Bulgarian Academy of Science in 2004. He has published over 80 research articles in the field of Coding Theory and Cryptography, as well as 4 secondary education textbooks and over 10 books and 50 articles on Math Olympiads and Competitions for high school students. For several years he was the Head Coach of the Bulgarian International Math Olympiads Team.

Shaoyu Dai, Ph.D. was a Visiting Researcher in mathematics at Purdue University Fort Wayne for Spring and Fall 2019, while on sabbatical from her home institution in China, Jinling Institute of Technology. She is a co-author with Professor Yifei Pan of several papers in complex analysis.

Jay Bagga, Ph.D., was a Visiting Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, from the Department of Computer Science, Ball State University. He taught here at IPFW and did research in mathematics during Spring 2016.

David Benko, Ph.D., was a Visiting Associate Professor in the IPFW Department of Mathematical Sciences, for Fall 2015 and Spring 2016.

Dr. Benko was visiting from the Department of Mathematics, University of South Alabama. He taught courses and collaborated in mathematics research.


Yang Liu, Ph.D., was a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Mathematical Sciences, from the Department of Mathematics, Zhejiang Normal University, China. He conducted research in complex analysis and applied mathematics at IPFW in 2014-2015.
