Lowell Beineke traveled to India in December 2016
The trip was supported in part by an Overseas Conference Grant from Indiana University.
At his visit to Kalasalingam University, he signed a research collaboration agreement ( PDF ), gave an invited talk, and together with Professor Jay Bagga of Ball State University, was a co-organizer of the 2016 International Conference on Theoretical Computer Science and Discrete Mathematics.
Professor Beineke also presented Are Graphs Finally Surfacing? at the Prof. S. Arumugam Endowment Lecture at Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, on December 22.

Peter Dragnev and Adam Coffman were recognized at the April 3, 2017, convocation of the College of Arts and Sciences, for the Department of Mathematical Sciences' engagement with the community through its Center for Applied Math and Statistics, and the Midwestern Workshop in Asymptotic Analysis.
