Treeline Mapping

Treeline Mapping and Spatial Pattern Analysis

I am working as an Aggie Research Leader since January 2016 and mentored more than 10 undergraduate students in treeline mapping and spatial pattern analysis projects. We used ESRI base satellite imagery, Digital Globe satellite imagery, Landsat imagery and topographic maps, and used software such as ESRI's ArcMap and ENVI to map the treeline. Students have presented their work in student research week at Texas A&M University, Geography Graduate Student Symposium at Texas A&M, and Southwest Division of the American Association of Geographers (SWAAG) Annual meeting.

Min-Hung Chou (Hank) (GIST, U2) is working on the lab to map the treeline of Nurak valley of Khanchanjunga Conservation Area, eastern Nepal. Hank is presenting this work in Student Research Week - 2017.

Min-Hung Chou (Hank) is presenting his poster in annual geography graduate students symposium at Texas A&M.
