Factors and Multiples

What are factors, products and multiples?

Multiple: The result of multiplying a number by an integer (not a fraction). E.g. 15 is a multiple of 3

Factor: Any integer which divides evenly into a given integer. E.g. 3 is a factor of 15.

Product: The result of multiplying two factors E.g. 15 is the product of 5 times 3

Prime Number: Numbers with exactly two factors - 1 and the number itself.

Square Number: The product of a factor multiplied by itself. E.g. 3 x 3 = 9 therefore 9 is a square number.

3) List the first five multiples of the following numbers:

a) 3 b) 5 c) 7 d) 4 e) 9

4) List the first 10 Prime Numbers

1) List all of the Prime Numbers from 1 to 100

2) List all of the Prime Numbers from 100 to 200
