Context of image
Ko te ingoa o tēnei tukutuku - Ko Te Rau Ponga, The Silver Fern. It is symbolic of the trees and ferns in the forest and those plants and foods that are cultivated. It is also a sign to the youth of today around the country, to flourish as the silver fern does.

Colours
In the settings section (click the little wrench in the top right corner) there is an option to "reverse contrast" this will make the background black.
You can change the colours of each cross to one of six default colours.
Please note that using the reverse contrast setting inverses all the colours you have selected.
If you wish to access a wider range of colours beyond the six default colours, you can read about that here.
Use this tool to help get the right colours. If you are going to use ‘reverse contrast’ for the final image, please make sure you select ‘reverse contrast’ when using this tool as well. This allows you to figure out the r,g,b values correctly and not the inverse values.
Setting the style of coordinates
In order to change from dots to crosses (more appropriate for tukutuku panel project) you can do so in the same section you change colour in.
In that same section you can change the size of the cross.
