In the 2025 Project for Awesome, we were all searching for our new mascot. There were many joyful moments, but none stood out in the way a mascot does. Little did we know we were building to a conceptual combination of chaos: The Concept of Surprise Twins!
And yet, it was not quite meant to be. After a fierce battle in a Tiltify poll, Silly Ray Cyrus ended up pulling ahead of The Concept of Suprise Twins. Since Silly Ray Cyrus is one of the twins, they will all remain on this page.
Silly Ray Cyrus and Sillie Nelson
Early in the stream, John showed off some of his new wigs. Upon seeing the first one, chat quickly declared John to be “Silly Ray Cyrus.”
Not long after, he switched wigs and became “Sillie Nelson.”
John had a few other wigs, but he kept going back to this pair of characters. Chat enjoyed creating parody song lyrics for him.
The Mustache
Early in the livestream, Hank spoke with Ettore Rossetti from Save the Children. Ettore has been speaking with us about the good work Save the Children does for many years and is a staple of P4A.
So when he offered to sacrifice his mustache for us, everyone was emotional. He didn’t even wait for us to hit a fundraising goal before walking off screen to shave. Soon, he returned, mustache-less. Chat was devastated.
Until we realized… it wasn’t Ettore! It was his twin brother, Angelo, appearing on P4A for the first time! An excellent goof.
The Twins (Honk and Bonk)
Late on the first night of P4A, Hank was popping balloons and doing tasks. He popped a balloon that told him to dance with The Twins. What does that mean? Who are The Twins? Chat was not prepared for the reveal. Once Hank located many USB-C cords to charge all the things, he revealed The Twins: a pair of small inflatable dancing people!
Hank danced with The Twins for a bit and then asked the chat for their names. The Twins were named Honk and Bonk!
On the second night, Hank again got a balloon telling him to dance with The Twins. Brennan, who was hosting with Hank, was quite confused but delighted to learn about Honk and Bonk. Additionally, it was established that Honk and Bonk are from York, Pennsylvania.
Yologurt
While Taylor and Miriam hosted, along with their dog Darcy, they were raising money by giving Darcy healthy treats when donation goals were reached. A poll was used to decide what to put on Darcy’s lick pad: peanut butter, pumpkin, or yogurt. Suddenly, a $1,000 donation came in from “Yologurt” and everyone was shocked! Such a generous donation, just for yogurt! Not long after, a second $1,000 donation from “Yologurt” appeared!
Thanks to Yologurt (and many others), Darcy’s lick pad was primarily yogurt. An excellent pair of donations.
The Possum Podcasters
Another balloon task had Hank do a possum finger puppet show about a hot take. This revealed that Hank had more than the one possum finger puppet we saw last year! The two twin possums had a brief episode of “The Possum Talk” podcast (which can be seen more here, but be warned, it involved Jarrod).
The Banana Loca Boys
Late on the second night of P4A 2025, Brennan joined Hank for some hosting. Hank had saved his two Banana Loca balloon tasks to do with Brennan because Brennan has shared in the horror/joy of the Banana Loca for the last few P4A’s. This year, he came prepared with HIS OWN BANANA LOCA!
Hank had no idea! Chat had no idea! An excellent surprise! Now our boys could Banana Loca together!
Double Sharpie Face
In the last hours of the P4A 2025, Hank was hosting solo and popped a balloon. He had to do Sharpie Face. When John joined him, he had #1 Sharpie Face Enthusiast Alice with him. Soon they were double sharpie faced! Surprise twins!
