American Cancer Society's aim is to provide volunteering events and opportunities that will allow members to join and offer their aid to the cancer community while also learning more about the science behind cancer and cancer research. It focuses on helping people become more informed about the perspectives of the unfortunate reality of 18 million people living with cancer. Its ultimate focus is to create a safe and informative environment for those who wish to help in the battle against cancer!
Description: American Cancer Society teaches about cancer types and its preventions with the bi-weekly meetings dedicated to a new type of cancer each month. Members are highly encouraged to bond and meet with cancer survivors, experiencing the community they have created with survivors, their families, and people passionate about spreading awareness and working towards conquering a common nemesis; cancer. Fundraisers and volunteering opportunities are also abundant throughout the year to raise money and aid cancer patients.
