The Association of Latin American Scholars is dedicated to improving students' successes, by instilling a sense of pride and community and showcasing cultural and academic talent.
Description: ALAS ensures that students are able to find success at Oxford Academy and beyond. We provide many educational opportunities through our Amiguitos and Amigotes programs, in partnership with our extensive collection of past alumni. ALAS is also dedicated towards spreading cultural awareness for the Hispanic/Latin American community, by sharing cultural talents and traditions. Additionally, our club participates in many charity drives and volunteering events, thus providing our members with opportunities to advocate and serve their community, while gaining volunteer hours. ALAS was designed to provide students, junior high and high school, with a home community to unlock new friendships and work towards overcoming their struggles: academic or personal, especially for our small Latin American student population.
