Independence Between Two Hands
Lesson 2
Lesson 2
A printable pdf copy of all the exercises for this course is available HERE.
Goal:
Achieve clean independence between two voices.
Instructions:
Select the following stops on your organ:
Great: Diapason 8 (Principal 8) and Octave 4 (Prestant 4)
Watch the demonstration video for each exercise and practice the technique as shown.
Practice slowly:
Practice each voice part separately first until you are confident with each and then practice them together.
Follow the exact fingerings provided.
Note that rests in the score indicate where repeated notes happen.
Maintain independence of line.
When both hands are played together, independence between both voices becomes critical. The asterix (*) in the score indicates an independence problem between the two voices.
Daily Practice Recommendation:
Practice 5–7 minutes per day. Gradually increase speed only when both lines sound even, clear, and independent.
