Goal:
Develop precision in the rhythmic value of every note and rest at the organ.
Instructions:
Select the following stops on your organ:
Great: Diapason 8 (Principal 8) and Octave 4 (Prestant 4)
Watch the demonstration video for each exercise and practice the technique as shown.
Hand position:
Keep fingers curved and relaxed.
Rest all fingers lightly on the keys at all times.
Avoid tension in the wrists, arms, or shoulders.
Practice slowly, then increase the tempo as accuracy and control improve.
Keep both hands in a fixed position and follow exact fingerings.
Count out loud to internalize rhythm: “1 – off – 2 – off”, etc. Give every note and rest its full value.
Daily Practice Recommendation:
Spend 2–3 minutes a day. Consistent, mindful practice leads to improved rhythm and touch.
