Abstract

Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) is a selective and specific tool for trace level sensing of molecules. This technique is advantageous over Raman spectroscopy as molecules with very low Raman efficiency even in low concentration can be detected label free with it. In this talk, I will discuss basics of Raman spectroscopy and SERS followed by sensing applications of SERS.

About the speaker

Dr. Radhika V. Nair has finished her PhD from the Optics & Photonics Lab of the Dept of Physics, IITM, in 2017, under the guidance of Prof C Vijayan. Her PhD work was to design and develop novel nanostuctured composites for photocatalysis and sensing.
