Parallel Computing with OpenMP and MPI
Parallel Computing with OpenMP and MPI
Parallel computing is used to run a resource intensive program simultaneously on multi-core hardwares. Depending on the problem and the hardware, a parallel code can run faster than the corresponding serial code by multiple folds. Shared-memory and Distributed-memory parellelism are the two basic paradigms in parallel computing. In this talk, I will briefy discuss these two paradigms using OpenMP and MPI respectively.
