Abstract

Are you writing an article along with your co-authors to submit to a journal? Are you considering where your name should figure? Have you been wondering how to determine the authorship order? Determining authorship seems mindlessly easy, until it isn't, given the increasingly collaborative research environment that we find ourselves working in. Working in a collaborative academic world requires us, as scholars, to understand the roles and responsibilities of each of us in building an ethical academic environment. In this interactive talk, by using hypothetical cases, I discuss the process of determining authorship credit and order and provide general existing guideline prescribed by the Committee on Publication Ethics on the matter.
